The Bennett’s Day @ Man City

“It meant such a lot to us to organise this day for the three of us. Our world stopped when Fred was diagnosed and Arthur’s needs very much had to come second for a while. The last stages of Fred’s illness and his death took place in full lockdown which meant that, as well as dealing with what was happening to our family Arthur was very much isolated from all the things he loved, including his beloved football. He has coped with so much over the last two years, with such courage, it is wonderful for him to be recognised in this way. It has been hard to do things as a family, now we are three, and this is a day we will all remember for a very long time.’’

Arthur (13)

My day out was very enjoyable and very well planned. My trip was to the ETIHAD ARENA (home to Manchester City football club). We were served a delicious lunch in the hospitality of the ETIHAD and had great seats to watch the world class Manchester City beat Newcastle United 5-1. After an easy train journey to Manchester, we were driven straight to the stadium where we browsed the Man City shop and merchandise. We then walked to the academy pitch to have lunch. The service was immaculate and we were back in perfect time to view the game.

It was one of my dreams to go and see my footballing idol Kevin De Bruyne who got Man of the Match after scoring 4 of the 5 goals that day.

It was one of the best games I’ve been to and I loved every second. The game was a thrilling victory and I had a great time (Arthur, 13)

It was a very easy journey there and back. It was extremely well organized and one of the highlights of my year. Thank you very much for my wonderful day.

Here’s some more about Fred.
